Tesa, I discovered you from an FB group called Ellen G White-False Prophet. Someone recommended your book...someone else tried to discredit your book based on your conversion to Catholicism. She further (as only a good former SDA could) misquoted and misinterpreted some Catholic beliefs. I've attempted to correct her position. But, honestly...not my problem.

My husband and I "became beleiver's" 14 yrs. ago. I'm a 7th gen. sda. Since then, we have been members of Presbyterian church and Calvery Chapel California churches. But, haven't found any real place for us since becoming believers. I have had inexplicable interest and passion for the Catholic church for about 3 years or so. Can you help give me some advice etc.? I'm really interested but not sure where to start. Would you be willing to share your journey with me?

Thanks so much,

Desiree'

HI Desiree,

Wow! How awesome. My first suggestion is: Watch EWTN (if you can't get it on cable watch on Youtube or www.ewtn.com --the specific show "The Journey Home." You can listen and watch all old programs on the archives. It is all about the different journeys people take into the Catholic church and why.

(If you want to watch via Youtube--type in Marcus Grodi or "The Journey Home program" and it should get you there.

Also, if you want to take a look at my blog and we can chat over anything you want there (as well as here.)

There are SO many great websites to help you understand Catholicism. Catholic Answers is good. New Advent is good.

There is also a blog of SDA who became Catholic. It is SDA to RC or something like that. Google Hugo Mendez and SDA to RC and it should give you the link.

Hope that helps and God bless!!

I would like to ask you why you disagree with adventist believers ? And with scripture show me the verses you stand by to prove sunday is the sabbath, also show me how people can go straight to heaven upon death even though Jesus says he will come back for the DEAD? How hell can burn forever when fire and brimstone consume this earth and this earth will be the new heaven so how will we live on this earth when the fire is still burning?

With the adventist church it is strictly scripture based and the bible does not contradict! Even before the adventist church there was a protestant movement against the catholic church that agreed with alot of the same doctrines that adventist believe in.Look at the next 2 verses and look at what seems to be a contradiction.... Luke 23:43 "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise." <---remember Jesus is on the cross here!!! ok here is the next verse... Joh_20:17 "Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; For I am NOT yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God." .....So what do you see that at first glance appears to be a contradiction with the harmony of these 2 verse based on the belief that we go straight to heaven upon death? Well the answer is simple it would make Jesus appear to be a liar, first of all it appears he tells the man on the cross that he will be with him in paradise that Very day! but then tells mary he hasnt yet went to paradise upon his resurection and the resurection was 3 days later! So how can Jesus promise to be with the thief on the cross when Jesus hasnt even been there yet? The answer is thats not what Jesus was saying! Jesus was saying today i tell you that you will be in heaven with, not that very day but when Jesus comes back for us! Ecc_9:5 "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten" ...1Th_4:16 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:"<----Who are these people if the dead are in heaven already?...The scriptures cannot contradict themselves, they are in harmony with each other. So what can we believe about these 2 verses? I will tell you without a doubt in my heart what the answer is. There was no punctuation in the original scriptures, it was added later for help in translation. The comma should have been placed after the word today instead of before it! some will say that doesnt sound right but if you read old english it is alot different then our modern english so dont let that keep you from accepting bible truth. So what will you believe? Will you believe Jesus contradicts himself or will you believe in the harmony of the scriptures? Those who seek truth will find it! May you seek with all your heart and may God bless all who trully want to know him.

Another Randy Roberts who began my learning journey at Biola. May I suggest there is something deeper? Truth is only known to the Creator of all. He dispenses truth through the controlled pathway; Jesus. A voice is crying -- in a wilderness -- Prepare ye the way of Jehovah, Make straight in a desert a highway to our God. Does it really make sense to unify about that which is only to fully revealed upon Jesus return? Why would God do this? Why leave us without fully knowing all truth--which is His possession alone? The delay is, perhaps, due to Jesus' final defeat of Satan, the father of lies and 'Divider in Chief'? Unify about the truth which God alone possess, or about love which:

[Jhn 13:33-35 NASB]
33 "Little children, I am with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, now I also say to you, 'Where I am going, you cannot come.'
34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
35 "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
